Those Who Claim to be Non-Religious Have a Religion

  1. The Religion of Food:

People who spend several hours every weekend searching for famous restaurants have mukbang (eating broadcasts) as their Bible, chefs as their shepherds, and delicious food as their sacred objects. They believe that they will attain eternal life the moment they eat all the delicious food in the world (they must collect proof shots), and it is their dream to go on a Michelin pilgrimage at least once in their lives. They think that a world where they have to eat bad food is hell.

  1. The Religion of Sex:

People who seek partners in room salons, host bars, clubs, bars, and nightclubs worship sex. They act as if they believe that they will attain eternal life if they have sex with 666 people. But what they actually get is not eternal life but sexually transmitted diseases. Even then, most of them count to about 20 and then forget to count because they are too busy.

  1. The Religion of Golf:

People who drive for several hours every Sunday to go to the golf course worship holes, sticks, and balls. They believe that if they put the ball into all 18 holes at once, they will receive eternal life as a reward. But no one has ever succeeded so far. They frequent the field more devoutly than any churchgoers.

  1. The Religion of Money:

They worship money by believing that salvation lies in their bank balance and by cherishing real estate, gold, and stocks as sacred objects. They endure everything for money, read books for money, go to work for money, and hate things that cost money or don’t make money the most. They think that living without money is like living in hell.

  1. Polytheism (Animism):

They are characterized by standing in line in front of stores for several days, waiting for the store to open as if on a pilgrimage, and they worship all sorts of things such as mobile phones, Star Wars, clothing, sneakers, figures, and celebrities. They cling to them as if they will give them salvation. They believe that different gods live in all things in the world, so they have places in their homes, such as walls or display cases, where they enshrine gods separately.

  1. The Religion of Science and Technology (Science Religion):

A baseless belief that the development of science will one day solve all of humanity’s pain of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure, and eventually bring even eternal life. They believe that there is no good or evil in the world and that everything is just a natural phenomenon, and they deny the existence of souls, gods, or the afterlife. However, if you bother them a little, they say things like “You devil! You will be punished by heaven,” which shows that deep down they actually believe in the existence of gods or good and evil, sharing schizophrenic characteristics. Most of them believe in the Big Bang theory, which science has given up proving, and Darwin’s theory of evolution based on it, but some uniquely believe that aliens created humans. If you ask them who created the aliens, whether the aliens were created by the aliens’ aliens, whether it is a circular argument, they become speechless or change the subject. However, caution is needed because if you argue with them too logically, they often get angry, saying, “Then you shouldn’t use a smartphone or the internet.”

  1. The Religion of Making a Living (Health Religion):

For them, the most sacred thing in the world is to eat and defecate healthily. They believe that life is a success if they can do that without problems for as long as possible. In case success is hindered, they exercise morning and evening and take all sorts of things that are said to be good for the body. And the purpose of all that effort is only to eat and defecate healthily for as long as possible. They are sometimes confused when they hear about things like the soul, eternity, or the meaning of life, but they soon regain their composure with a firm will and return to a mental state focused only on eating and defecating. Like the believers of the “Money Religion,” they love money, but there is a crucial difference in that they no longer have great greed for money as long as there is no hindrance to eating and defecating. They believe that eating and defecating well for as long as possible without any physical pain is salvation.

  1. Et Cetera:

Unfortunately, most modern people are religious fanatics who are no less than Shincheonji. They act as if they will finally achieve happiness and enter heaven if they keep repeating certain actions and fill up their mileage, but they quickly make excuses with things they picked up on TV.

They say, “I am non-religious. I just believe in science and myself.”

What do you want to get with that science? Isn’t it ultimately to eat, defecate, wear, play, and live as long as possible while doing what you want? But is it scientifically beneficial to the world for you to live long while doing that? The scientific answer to that is no. From a scientific point of view, people who have reached an age where their productivity is low only create excrement that produces methane gas, so they are subject to population optimization. Being optimized by science is the fate of those who believe in science. We all meet our respective ends according to what we each believe. Those who believe in science seem to be mentally deficient somewhere if you think about it quietly, they will be able to realize what kind of religious fanatic they are worshipping.
