Eternity vs. Infinity

Eternity and infinity are not the same.

Eternity is hope and salvation, while infinity is despair and reincarnation.

The commonly seen symbol for infinity (♾) often represents a Möbius strip, endlessly looping but always returning to the same point.

It is also symbolized by a snake biting its own tail.

This aligns with the concept of reincarnation in Buddhism, Hinduism, and Eastern philosophies.

Furthermore, it can symbolize a son marrying his mother or a father marrying his daughter.

It represents a state of being neither parent, spouse, nor sibling, devoid of all meaning, a nihilistic state on the brink of hell.

It’s like the world in Alice in Wonderland, where one must run ceaselessly just to stay in the same place.

Eternity, on the other hand, is a straight line.

It is the distant horizon.

It may seem to end, but it continues forever.

It is the hope and certainty that things will eventually get better.

Even if it feels like going in circles, it never returns to the starting point.

Memories are not reset like in reincarnation.

You can set a destination and embark on a journey, again and again.

The difference between eternity and infinity is the presence or absence of sin.
